“It Ain’t Nothin' You Can’t Repent Of”
A Poem By Sterling Edwards
Regrets
I’ve had more than a few
Things I wish I had not done
Things I would give anything to undo
Words I want to take back
Some of my journey to again walk
If I could I turn back time
If I could reset the clock
Those times I was selfish
Those times I was a jerk
But, the calendar doesn’t turn backwards
And the time machine doesn’t work.
So, here I am left
to deal with what I’ve done
To rethink and replay it all night
While waiting for the sun
But, the truth is
There’s another choice
Another alternative
Another Voice
A Voice that tells me
My past is redeemed
My sins are forgiven
That I’ve been made clean
A Voice That Tells Me
Of The Price He Paid
To Give His Life
For The Messes I’ve made
A Voice That Tells Me
I don’t have to look back
It’s time to turn the page
There’s nothing that I lack
Jesus brings freedom
From Everything I’ve done
God not only calls me by name
He also calls me His Son
Now I am left to
Walk in His truth
To follow His ways
His paths to pursue
So, No matter your past
Even when you’ve questioned God’s love
You can find rest in this
It ain’t nothin you can’t repent of
